IEEE488 commanded gantry system.  Some multi-pole connectors are now constructed with a de-coupling capacitor built into the assembly for each pin.  The capacitor is developed as a single thick-film substrate on an alumina base, but holes for the pins must be drilled.  This system with twin drilling heads takes on-line position commands from a LAN network on IEEE488.  Sequencing is via relays.
