AC Servo and AC Inverter driven system.  A special CNC controller with PLC capability is used to drill spiral hole patterns in 40 foot long hardened steel pipes.  The pipes are used in the off shore oil-drilling processes.   The spiral pattern and hole-size varies depending on the rock-strata being drilled.   The system is programmed with various job routines for different oil-fields custom job routines also can be programmed into the system.  The drilling beam with 20 5.5KW drilling-heads on it can exert up to 17 tonnes of force.
